Everyday Street Photography
An ongoing project documenting everyday streets, focusing on the people, movements, and overlooked details that tell the story of urban life as it unfolds.
Red Handed
On the streets, red finds its way into the smallest of details—a painted wall, a worn cloth, a passing sign. These hues add a striking beauty to what might otherwise feel ordinary or even saddening. Through them, the streets speak in warmth, reminding us that even in tough surroundings, color breathes life into
the everyday.
At Work, At Heart
The streets are alive with people absorbed in their own worlds—working, creating, waiting, moving. These moments, though ordinary, carry a quiet intensity. Each frame captures someone deeply involved in their personal rhythm, a glimpse into the unnoticed beauty of everyday human focus.
I enjoy photographing people on the streets because every conversation opens a new doorway—sometimes into an unfamiliar concept or activity, other times into the hidden dynamics of a place. It’s not just about making images, but about learning, listening, and discovering stories that deepen my understanding of the world around me.
Streetside Companions
In India, domestic animals—cows, dogs, goats, and more—move through the streets as naturally as people do. They weave into the rhythm of daily life, often blurring the line between the wild and the familiar. Their presence tells a quiet story of coexistence, resilience, and the uniquely open character of Indian streets.
In India, cows are revered, prayed to, and even protected in the name of faith. Yet, the streets tell a different story—where these same animals roam freely, often struggling for food and safety. I once saw a cow wander into a home’s yard simply because the door was left open, only to be beaten back with a cane and cursed at by the owner. This paradox is everywhere, where worship and neglect stand side by side. Instead of letting cows wander aimlessly through traffic and danger, we should push for more gaushalas—safe shelters that care for them with dignity and consistency, aligning our actions with the values we claim to hold.
