It was something new, challenging, and unorthodox; to be done using TouchDesigner

The game turned out to be a huge hit among visitors, with many returning to beat the high score or set a new personal best.

It became a hit with visitors, sparking friendly competition and repeated play as everyone tried to beat the top score.

Interaction Stages

Each visitor creates and customizes their own character, making the experience personal and emotionally engaging.

Each player’s character mirrors their movements via live motion tracking, creating an immersive and responsive play experience.

The patterns and textures for clothing and hair are chosen by placing colored blocks on specific areas of a printed character template positioned under a webcam.

Once the visitor confirms their design by pressing a button connected to an Arduino, the data is cached into TouchDesigner.

Their customized character then appears on the screen in real time, and the visitor can walk to the gameplay area to begin playing.

Defining a Space

A physical prototype helped understand spatial arrangement and visitor movement. Where would the screen and the scanning area be placed so as the user can self interact with the installation without external guidance.

We explored multiple input methods — drawing, coloring, scribbling, and selecting — scanning using webcam.
